Vava'u No.1 Representative
Mr. Samiu Vaipulu
Although, Mr.
Vaipulu was re-elected to the House in the 2005 General Elections, he is
certainly not a new member. He is a well-known and well-respected
business man
in Vava'u, having his own legal practice and other assorted business ventures. In
fact he was one of the co-founders of the "whale watching" ventures
in Vava'u, as an alternative means for locals to preserve the whale

immigration policies in Tonga.

Vava'u No.2 Representative
Mr. Viliami Kaufusi Helu
Mr. Helu's

many as 5 candidates could have won this seat as it was the closest fought
seat in the March 2005 general election. Mr. Helu is a well-respected
man in his community and is an active participant in his church.
