THE Mate Ma’a Tonga players have conveyed their appreciation to the Tongans and all their fans for the love and support towards the team while contesting in the 2022 Rugby League World Cup tournament in England. 

The Hon. Minister of Internal Affairs Lord Vaea conveyed their message from MIA CEO Dr. Fotu Fisi’iahi, MMT Coach Kristian Wolfe and the players in Parliament. 

He said the players are proud to be Tongans knowing they are always in our prayers. And the good luck wishes they received from the fans and watching videos of float parade and fans wishing them good luck for their game’s songs dedicated for the MMT, made them proud Tongans.  

The undefeated Mate Ma’a Tonga team will play against Toa Samoa in the quarterfinal match this Sunday, November 6 at Warrington.  

The powerful Mate Ma’a Tonga squad have won their pool D and remain undefeated after their games with Papua New Guinea, Wales and the Cook Islands.
