Nuku’alofa, Tonga (11 March 2020) - Nuku’alofa is riveting with excitement and anticipation today as 28 participants aged between 14 – 34 arrive for the Fale Alea To’utupu (Tonga Youth Parliament), which aims at engaging and educating Tongan youths about their parliamentary system and developing their leadership skills.
THE Legislative Assembly has adjourned its next sitting until May 2020.
Parliament was scheduled to sit yesterday, February 17, 2020.
Names of 27 successful candidates for the Tonga Youth Parliament 2020 were announced last week.
The announcement was made during a special program in the Parliament’s Chamber.
Over 4300 registered voters of Tongatapu 1 constituency are expected to cast their vote in the November 28 by-election, next Thursday.
APPLICANTS who wish to apply for the Tonga Youth Parliament 2019 will be closed at 4:30 pm next Monday.
