THE Legislative Assembly will convene for its first 2023 sitting on Monday 12th of June 2023.

The first order of business of the House is to reply to the King’s Royal Address during the official state opening last week.

A Select Committee was tasked with drafting a respond to the King’s opening speech of Parliament before reporting to the House.

Monday’s discussions on the content of Reply will not be made public or broadcast until it is first delivered to His Majesty King Tupou VI.

Normally, when Parliament approves the Reply, the Lord Speaker will appoint Members to deliver Parliament’s Reply before any House business can proceed.

The House’s first agenda following the Reply, is deliberation on the Budget Estimate for 2023/’24 financial year.

Parliament must pass the Budget Estimates before July 1st.
