THE Legislative Assembly will reconvene on February 18.

It is expected to run until the end of March.

Parliament is to discuss the usual business agenda, including Public Bills, Regulations and some parliamentary committee’s reports.

Meanwhile, some of the parliamentary committees have met to set the agenda and priority issues of their respective committees.

That includes an urgent meeting called by the Foreign Affairs, Defense and Trade Standing Committee in the past weeks following the internet blackout in Tonga.

At the same time the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Lord Fakafanua also called a meeting of the Standing Committee on Business to consider and determine Parliament’s business and work calendar.

Meanwhile the Legislation Standing Committee also met to consider and report on the Foreign Investment Bill, to be considered further by the Legislative Assembly on Monday, February 18.

The last sitting of Parliament was in November last year.
