Parliament appoints Lord Tu’i’afitu as new Whole House Committee Chair

THE Legislative Assembly has appointed a new Chairman of the Whole House Committee, Lord Tu’i’afitu. the number two Vava’u Noble Representative

Lord Tu’I’afitu replaced the former Chair, Veivosa Taka who held the position since October 2016.

There were two candidates for the post and Lord Tu’i’āfitu won over Tongatapu 5 MP Losaline Ma’asi by 11-9 votes yesterday.

Meanwhile, Parliament is adjourned until Monday, May 25 for the discussion of the budget.
