THE Legislative Assembly of Tonga will reconvene its sittings on October 3rd, following its adjournment on August 8.
Meanwhile, Members of Parliament are now undertaking their annual parliamentary visit to their respective electorates across the country.
According to the House Calendar, the annual constituency visit commenced on 1 September until October before convening on Thursday, October 3.
During the House's adjournment, the Legislation Standing Committee managed to complete public consultation meetings in Tongatapu and the outer islands on seven Bills related to amendments to the Constitution and the Electoral Act.
There are pending matters for Parliament to discuss including Annual Reports among other agendas.

The ‘Eua 11 constituency office is taking significant steps towards fostering a healthier and cleaner environment for Tonga. This morning, staff distributed heavy-duty plastic bags to six primary and 2 secondary schools for the collection of recycled water bottles, which will be shipped to Coca-Cola Amatil Tonga in Tongatapu.

The Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Tonga, Lord Fakafanua, has been invited to chair the Reporting Session at the Tenth IPU Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians. The conference will take place in Yerevan, Armenia, from September 12 to 14, 2024, under the theme "Avoiding Lost Generations: Preserving Education and Employment in All Circumstances."
