THE Legislative Assembly Office will commemorate the United Nations (UN) Day tomorrow in collaboration with the UN Office Tonga.
Its theme is Youth for Sustainable Development in Parliament.
The UN Day 2018 commemoration highlights the Tonga Youth Parliament (TYP) scheduled for November 12-14.
Successful 26 MPs for the TYP will be announced at this event.
The program begins with an open prayer led by Deputy Principal Sia’atoutai Theological College.
Lord Fakafanua the Speaker of Parliament will deliver the welcoming and the keynote address on behalf of Parliament.
Also a special remark from the Under Secretary-General and High Representative for Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries & Small Island Developing States, Fekita ‘Utoikamanu on behalf of the United Nations Secretary General and UN Office Tonga.
Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Tonga Mahe’uli’uli Tupouniua is to convey the vote of thanks.
The event begins at 5pm tomorrow.
