Lord Tu’ilakepa, the Nobles’ number two representative for Vava’u, has today lodged a verbal complaint against the Deputy Prime Minister, accusing him of obstructing or impeding the Legislative Assembly in carrying out its duties.
The Speaker of the Assembly has referred the matter to the Standing Committee on Privileges.
The complaint was raised during this morning's session, during debates on the Clerk’s report on Member attendance for the meeting held on January 31, 2025. The Deputy Prime Minister had requested a report after questioning the number of absences at the meeting, where the new Cabinet members were sworn in.
