Legislative Assembly of Tonga Passes Standing Committee on Privilege Report

This afternoon, the Legislative Assembly of Tonga passed the Standing Committee on Privilege Report number 1/2025, addressing Complaint number 1/2024. The complaint was filed by the Tongatapu Number 3 Nobles Representatives against the Tongatapu 7 People’s Representatives.

The House voted in favor of the report, with 22 votes in support and no opposition.

Following the vote, the Speaker announced that the Clerk will initiate the necessary procedures in accordance with the recommendations made by the Privilege Committee and in accordance with the Standing Orders.
