Parliament today paid tribute to the late Lord Lasike, former Noble Representative for ʻEua and Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, with members observing a minute of silence in his honour following news of his passing.
The Speaker of Parliament, Lord Fakafanua, conveyed heartfelt condolences to Lord Lasike’s wife, family, and loved ones, offering prayers for comfort and strength during this time of mourning.
Lord Lasike served with distinction as a Noble Representative beginning in 2005, and was re-elected in 2008 and 2010. Following the 2010 general election, he was appointed Speaker of the Legislative Assembly.
His funeral is scheduled to take place on Thursday.
