Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Receives Courtesy Call from Australian High Commissioner

The Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Tonga, Lord Vaea, received a courtesy call this morning from His Excellency Mr. Brek Batley, Australian High Commissioner to Tonga.

The meeting allowed Lord Vaea and High Commissioner Batley to exchange views on matters of mutual interest and to discuss opportunities for continued bilateral cooperation and support. The discussions reaffirmed the longstanding and close relationship between the Kingdom of Tonga and Australia.

This engagement marked the first official meeting between Lord Vaea and High Commissioner Batley since Lord Vaea was appointed Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Tonga.
