This morning, the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Tonga, Lord Fakafanua, warmly welcomed the President of the South Australian Legislative Council, Hon. Terry Stephens, along with the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Hon. Leon Bignell, and the Clerk of the House of Assembly, Rick Crump, to the Parliament's Chamber.

As the Twin Parliament of Tonga, the South Australian Parliament has played a vital role in supporting Tonga's legislative framework. Their assistance has included training programs for both staff and Members of Parliament, as well as the provision of essential equipment and various other forms of support.

The President of the Legislative Council and the Speaker of the House of Assembly both rang the bell to notify members that the House was about to commence after the break at 2:00 pm. They seated on either side of the Speaker in the Parliament Chamber when they were introduced in Parliament.

In the afternoon, the South Australian delegation participated in a productive meeting with Lord Fakafanua and the Deputy Speaker, Lord Tu'iha'angana. The discussions centered on exploring further avenues for assistance from South Australia and enhancing cooperation between the two parliaments.

This partnership highlights a shared commitment to mutual growth and development, reinforcing the strong ties between Tonga Parliament and South Australia Parliament.
