Legislative Assembly to Resume Budget Debate on Monday

The Legislative Assembly of Tonga will reconvene on Monday at 2:00 p.m. to continue its deliberations on the national budget.

Ahead of the sitting, the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) is in the final stages of reviewing the budget estimates and is expected to table its report to Parliament on the same day.

The referral of the budget to the PAC is a vital parliamentary process aimed at strengthening financial oversight and ensuring transparency and accountability in public spending.

Meanwhile the Legislation Standing Committee will meet at 2:00 p.m. today to address legal matters concerning the revolving fund, sports levy, and Road Maintenance Fund (RMF), as referred by Parliament.
