Second Written Nomination of a Candidate for Prime Minister Designate received

The Office of the Interim Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Tonga wishes to advise that another written nomination for the position of Prime Minister Designate was received today, Wednesday 10th of December, 2025. This is the second nomination of a candidate for Prime Minister Designate.

In accordance with the practices of the Legislative Assembly, the details of the nomination will only be revealed by the Interim Speaker, Lord Tangi ‘o Vaonukonuka in the presence of the Elected Representatives at the meeting convened for the election of the Prime Minister Designate.

Further written nominations for Prime Minister Designate may continue to be lodged until Friday 12 December 2025 at 4.30 pm.
